Dilemma of the Day: Student cheating and school response

The situation is very difficult for this very clever girl, she's a very smart and clever girl who has cheated in a school project. This girl got straight A's in the beginning of the school, the last couple a weeks she's changed, she hasn't been in school, she's always alone at home her parents are getting divorced. Her situation is very difficult as the school director I support her, because i know what she is capable of, she a really smart and dedicated girl who knows what she wants in the future, in our school we support everyone who's going through a hard time. Cheating in school project is against every principle the school have, we can not just look through this and say it doesn't matter because it does matter it's been a problem over years for many students that they cannot concentrate in class or do their own homework.

What can our school do?

Actually we can't do anything about it, we can try to help the students with their homework as much as we can but it is difficult if they don't want to do it, but we have stop the cheating!..
