Why Latino Children Are Scared of Donald Trump - Analytical essay

This article is about US President Donald Trump and the youth who fear their president because of the posts he makes. As we can read in lines 27 to 29, the author says that the speeches Donald Trump makes speak to children's greatest fears, which can also lead to separation from parents. Hugo was born in the United States and his mother and father are Mexicans and came to the United States a decade ago.We can start by looking at who is the sender and who is the recipient of the article. It is clear that the sender of the article is Hector Tobar. Hector Tobar is a very reliable individual because of his experience in the media. Hector Tobar is the perfect person to write this article because he is the son of immigrant parents and therefore, he can relate to the feeling children have with Donald Trump. The recipients of the article are simple, these are the people who read The New York Times which is a section of the American public.A good example of the author's use of visuals can be found on line 24 "" I'm afraid someone will hurt him, "said my 10-year-old daughter recently.", In lines 45 - 48: "He said that Mexican people are bad people (…) and we should all be treated the right way. ”And as I wrote earlier, you can really relate to what Hugo feels and goes through. This will cause the recipient to consider and thus agree with Hector Tobar that Donald Trump really goes over the line and should treat Mexican people the way he treats everyone else in America. The text is written in a very simple language, so anyone who reads the article can understand what Hector Tobar thinks. There are some Spanish words in the article, the meaning of which is explained in the article, as seen in lines 1-4: “MANY monsters and ghosts haunt the dreams of Latino children. There is "La Llorona" said to groan for his dead children. And more recently Chupacabra, which sucks the blood from livestock and maybe a boy or a girl if he or she does not behave. “Hector Tobar speaks the Spanish language to say what he means, and he uses a very simple language so that everyone in the World can understand what he writes and what the message is in the article. The article's message is clear, Hector Tobar has written the article to give everyone an understanding of how Mexican citizens are in the US and especially how the children are feeling with his statements and Héctor Tobar wants the recipient to relate to Latinos and have empathy with them. One can clearly see that Héctor Tobar does not like Donald Trump and he wants the recipients to consider their vote for the next election. He will ridicule Trump and criticize him for 'overreacting' his campaign against the Latino immigrants, which the author does by presenting the children, their situation and perspective. My conclusion is that I feel that Hector Tobar has been very successful in passing his message to the readers of the article, which he has done, among other things, with his use of children and children's critical perspectives on Donald Trump. The argumentative and linguistic features of the article invest it with considerable relevance and reader interest. Taking into account the language of simplicity and the compelling nature of the arguments because of the author's focus on the children's perspectives, I feel that Hector Tobar has had a huge success in getting readers to understand his message of the article. Hector Tobar is also a very famous and beloved author and it probably also makes the article exciting for the readers and when his name says on the article it also gives attention.
