A Scandal in Bohemia: analyse af Holmes og Irene Adler

The king is characterized as self-centered, and Holmes doesn't seem particularly impressed with him, but he recognizes the king's status. The case revolves around the king's former directness and the impact it will have on his future wedding plans, but more importantly, the case will introduce Holmes to the most important woman in his life, Irene Adler. The word "adventure" can describe Irene Adler, a young and unmarried woman on her own, she travels Europe around to meet royal and noble persons. She has been accused of tricking the king's men up to this point. Holmes begins this case in disguise, to get as close as possible to Irene and collect data for the case. The fact that Watson is fooled by Holmes's disguise shows holmes' ability to impersonate himself to be a different person, even if it's for something as simple as collecting information. While he's still collecting information, holmes gets involved and becomes part of Irene and Godfrey's wedding. The wedding is strange, and Irene and Godfrey have not brought friends or acquaintances together to attend the ceremony. The wedding of Irene and Godfrey presents what a royal wedding could be like. There has been spared ceremony and everything is rushed, and in the newlywed couple leave the church, they go in opposite directions as if this were a minor part of their day. Irene's marriage complicates matters as she plans to sabotage the king's relationship out of jealousy. Energized by his earlier adventures, Holmes forms a new plan that is even more unorthodox, dangerous and theatrical. Watson takes up his role as a sidekick and loyal partner, cheerfully agreeing to break the law for the sake of an interesting case. This exchange highlights the fact that this is neither a mystery to be solved, nor a matter for the police, but rather a fun adventure for Holmes and Watson. Holmes disguise is an opportunity to impersonate himself to be someone else and demonstrate his cunning. Holmes and Watson spend some time understanding Irene's thinking. This is part of Holmes' methods, instead of searching her entire house through as the king's men have done, Holmes tries to put himself in Irene's place and think like her. Holmes chooses to disguise himself as a priest, which helps him quell any suspicions and Irene feels obligated to let Holmes enter her house, as his transformation is like a priest, and Irene doesn't recognize him as that witness That was her wedding ceremony. When Holmes and Watson reunite, Holmes finally reveals his secrets to Watson. Although he hasn't got hold of the photos yet, he's been able to pinpoint location. Holmes discusses his plans with Watson as they walk through the streets of London and assumes the same kind of anonymity that the King of Bohemia felt at the beginning of the story. This case has brought Holmes and Watson back together. Watson's loyalty to Holmes is so strong that he has to spend the night in his old apartment with Holmes, instead of going home to his wife. Holmes and Watson's expectations are shattered when they arrive at Irene's house, they had hoped to surprise Irene by arriving as early as possible in the morning, but the day things don't go in their direction they are one step behind, which is not common for Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock Holmes has been surpassed by a woman, and Irene's letter details how she did it. Irene seems very convincing in her letter that the king takes her word that she won't ''reveal' him. The King's pleased with the result and Holmes payment for the case, which is a picture of Irene.
