The reason for this assignment was to find out how the classic detective genre was and how it has changed by the years. To find out what the old detective’s roll has been I have read a lot about it on the internet, I have read The clocks by Agatha Christie written 1962 and also seen the film version of it to get a better picture of detective Poirots appearance. I have read several short stories by Conan Doyle in which the amazing Sherlock Holmes appears, to understand the difference or similar between those two. Also I have seen episodes of Criminal Minds to understand what the changes are. It went from classic detectives like Sherlock Holmes, Poirot and Miss Marple from the golden age where only one detective was smart enough to figure out who the bad guy where. Now their are two or several detectives. In Criminal Minds the detectives are working together as a team to catch the criminals solving the case together. With focus on the victim and locking up the bad guys, these kind of detective stories have become very popular making the viewer feel safe every time a bad guy is caught.
