Regression to the mean I’m horrible at math but this technical term I live for. While watching the season finale of Teen Wolf, Deaton, (a mentor) explains to a very sorrowful Scott (The main character), about how the death of his beloved will come to pass. He explains the very first time both Scott and I have ever heard of the term, “regression to the mean.” Here’s the technical definition: “in statistics, regression toward (or to) the mean is the phenomenon that if a variable is extreme on its first measurement, it will tend to be closer to the average
