Engelsk - what happened in the mountains

Pete was getting ready to visit Zoe when his phone rang. Two kids had been reported missing in the mountains. Pete… was chocked for a moment, then he texted Zoe. ,,Hello Zoe, I need to decline our meeting, I just got a call about two kids gone missing. I hope its okay.’’ Pete said..Pete waited for a minute, and then he got a answer back. ,,Its fine Pete, we can meet another day. Are you going to investicate the case now?’’ Pete hurried texting back. ‘’Yes, I will be going now. See you!’’ Pete turned off the phone, and packed his bag with important items quickly. Then he left his house and drove over to the mountain. After 2 hours driving, he ran out looking for the children. Hours passed, and he still hadnt found the kids. He was freezing, as it was very cold. He began to worry about if the kids could survive on their own and if they could get food and drink by them selves. Pete hurried and had only one thought in his mind: to find the kids. 2 days passed, and the kids still hadnt showed up. His mobile was ringing and there was a text message from Zoe. ,,Hi Pete. How is it going?’’ Pete smiled as he was very happy for Zoe was caring about him. His fingers almost couldn’t text back because they were freezing too much, but he managed to anyway. ,,Hi Zoe, been searching for two days now. Can’t give up. It’s getting dark.’’ He closed his mobile, and went looking further ahead. The third day, he was all excausted, and very tired. He was about to give up, and had lost his confidence. But then he saw a little tree hut. Pete was amazed and surprised that there was someone who actually lived there. He ran over and knocked on the door. He was waiting quite a long time before an old woman opened the door. ‘’What can I do for you?’’ she said. ‘’I am sorry for interrupting you, but I am searching for two children who has been lost in the mountains for about 3 days now. I was thinking, do you might have seen them or something?’’ the old woman looked at Pete with a confused expression on her face for a while, then her face brightened up and she began talking happily. ‘’Yes, I almost forgot! I am so silly. They where lost, and knocked on my door and I gave them permission to sleep at my house.’’ The two children suddenly ran out to Pete. ‘’Hi! Do you know where our parents are?’’ they yelled. Pete could see that they have had a fun time, and they were happy and safe. He hurried saying thanks to the lady for taking care of them and then they just drove home. The children returned to their parents, and everyone where happy. And Pete? It was the evening when Pete had to meet up with Zoe for a dinner out. He was all excited and couldn’t wait. He grapped his keys and phone, and then he left his house with a big smile on his face.
