Pete was getting ready to visit Zoe when his phone rang. Two kids had been reported missing in the mountains. Pete cancelled with Zoe. He put on his jacket and took the keys to the car.
He had to meet three police officers from the Liverpool-division. They had to meet at his office in Kendal. The police officers from the Liverpool-division arrived at the office half an hour later than Pete. They introduced themselves as Harry Johnson, Theo Williams and Ellen Baker. At the end of the meeting they had arranged that Johnson and Baker would start searching for the kids in the mountains tonight and Pete and Williams in the morning next day.
After the meeting Pete went home to bed.
He didn’t sleep well, about two or three hours. In the morning Williams knocked on Pete's door. Pete finished his coffee and took the keys for the car, and then went out and locked the door.
When they arrived at the mountains Johnson and Baker was waiting for them. They told that they had looked at the Wast water at Illgill Head, but there was none children to find. Today they had planned to go look at Scafell Pike. They splitted up, Johnson and Williams went to the East side and Pete and Baker on the West.
