In The United States, it’s legal to have a gun in your home.
That’s because of the second amendment. The second amendment was written in 1791, and it quotes: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
Which means that you are allowed to have guns in your home, to protect your house and family. Sometimes parents buy guns as presents for their children and/or teenagers, for birthdays, Christmas, et cetera.
But that can also have major consequences. Education Week has in 2018 recorded a total of 94 school shootings in the United States.
School shootings have taken place across the United States. At elementary schools, middle schools and high schools. On college and university campuses.
According to studies, factors behind school shootings include family dysfunction, lack of family supervision, mental illness among many other psychological issues.
