School shootings occur when a student at a school, either an elementary, middle, high school or a college or university, shoots, injures, and kills at least one other student or employee. Incidents like that usually involve multiple deaths and a lot of injuries. In the United States, shootings at schools occur quite frequently, especially where over 100 occur every year.
What are some examples of school shootings? One of the worst and most well-known shootings is the Columbine school shooting where 15 people got killed and 21 injured. The shooters were two boys, Eric Harris, and Dylan Klebold. The boys were only 18 and 17 years old. The reason why they did it wasn’t published because their parents thought that it was too hateful so no one knows for sure why they did it. There are a lot of factors that could explain why they did commit mass shootings. One of these could be the lack of friends or that a lot of guys bullied them for being ugly and not getting any girls. Once they had shot the students, both of them shot themselves in the head in the school library.
Then there is another school shooting that happened in Blacksburg, Virginia 2007, where a 23-year-old student Seung-Hui Cho killed 33 students and wounded 17 whereafter he killed himself in his dorm. Seung was described as a loner that didn’t speak to anyone and had a history of mental health problems. The teachers were getting a little concerned because of his assignments they said that his agistments were angry and violent but decided not to do anything about it and dint talk with him about it.
