One of the biggest issues with phones is people who are driving and texting at the same time. It is one of the biggest problems we are facing right now as a society in the traffic. More and more people are getting killed every year because of the drive while texting or calling someone. So, a company called Cellebrite has come up with a solution to the problem. It is called textalyzer. It is a device the police will get into their cars. The textalyzer is made for when the police are called out to a car accident, they can check the involved driver or drivers’ phones by plugging them into the textalyzer and it will show the officer which apps they have been using leading up to the crash. It will help to stop phoning and driving at the same time.[1]But I wonder if it will violate human privacy. Because basically what it is doing is hacking your phone. I think a lot of people will see it as an attack on their privacy if someone can see what you have been doing on your phone. Another problem is that it can maybe make the problem bigger than the problem they were trying to solve first[2]. Another issue it could have is how many are going to have access to a textalyzer it could be a big problem if people like hackers could use it stalk people on phones they might have stolen. In the articles I have read I mentioned earlier they write that the supporters of the textalyzer says it can only see the apps we have been using and not what we have been writing or searching for it will just show time and which apps they have been using, but is it necessary to know which app they have been using. Is it not enough to know which time they have been one their phone? A big advantage of the device is that it can see and maybe stop the use of mobile phones while driving among a lot of people because they get too scared to drive and text when it is so easy to see what time people have been using their phone. The main part of people who are supporting the idea of the product are people who have lost family or friends through inattentive driving. I completely understand that people suffer from their loss but is it not just a hope for revenge. The people who have lost through inattentive driving knows it is because of phones so why do we need more devices to check if people are using their phones a lot of people who crash throws their phone away and it is still turned on when the police check the car. In a lot of cases I think the driver will feel so bad they will tell what they were doing while driving. I think the textalyzer could be a great idea but it does not need to show which apps you have been using you will not get a higher or lower penalty depending on which app you have been using. The textalyzer is a great idea but it still needs to change a bit before I think it is good to let out in the world.
