Hvad ser blinde mennesker?

Hi, my name is [NAVN A], I come from Denmark and live in a small town called Glyngøre. Today I’m going to talk about a subject that is talked about every day, or maybe you haven’t even thought about it.

One day I was thinking like I always thought, but a thought came in my head. The thought was, what do blind people see? and can they see anything? Do they think in pictures? I was so confused. If I met a blind man one day that has been blind all his life, and comes up to me and wants me to describe the world to him, what do I say? Do I just say that the trees are green, and the heaven is blue? I can’t describe colors to him. Then I did some research, like I always do because why not? Then I searched around on the internet and then I stumbled across a video on YouTube. The video was quite interesting. There was this man called Lou and a boy called Tyler. Lou was the blind guy and Tyler was a boy. The two were by coincidence on the same bridge. Tyler then asked Lou “So do you just form pictures in your head? No not really, I’ve never really seen before”. That line kind of sends my thoughts going. He goes on saying “well I’ve never really seen anything. I’ve only seen a little bit of light perception, so his mind has no visual reference points. That means that blind people who have been blind since birth. Just see nothing or little bits of light. But what is nothing, you can’t just describe nothing. Then the blind man Leo says, “if I explained nothing to you, it sorts of be like you describing something to me”. That sentence he said made me very happy that I have the ability to see. Blind people can’t even form pictures in their heads it’s just emptiness. They can’t see what the weather is like, they can only see things. That must be so depressed and lonely, I can’t stop thinking about it.
