I read your letters. I know you asked me to never try to contact you and I won’t; I don’t know who I’m writing this to as you never enclosed a return address. A part of me is writing this for my own growth, maybe at the end of the letter ill find myself, the same way you did.
You helped me cope with my own doubts and fears, in ways I won’t be able to describe. I’ll never forget, the words, you wrote:
that we are who we are for a lot of reasons and maybe we’ll never know most of them, but even if we don’t have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there.
Do you remember when you were one with the wall?
They saw you as an understandable person, who listens and knew everything about everyone.
Everyone liked you so much when you were “there”, right? Wasn’t that the reason Mary Elizabeth was so fond of you because you were there?
But Charlie, how are you? Are you happy, being the person, you are? Don’t you regret anything?
A lot of people run from honesty. Sometimes the toughest words come from honesty… but were you true to yourself. Patrick came to you when he was down. You were there for him when he asked you to be. It was nice to you and for a while he was your only and best friend. He even kissed you. And you let him. And then Sam asked you, “Why did you let him kiss you?”. you were just trying to be a nice guy.
