First Day of school I think that the poem describes very well, how the little boy feels about his first day at school. For example, “All around, the railings. Are they to keep out wolves and monsters?” You can tell by the poem how curious and nervous the boy is because he didn’t have a clue about what school is like. I notice that there is no negativity in the things the boy describes. He talks about monsters outside the railings, but he doesn’t sound like he is afraid of them.
