Thank you for your letter. First of all, I think you should know that even though your teacher Bill keep telling you to participate more in social events, it's important to remember not to put too much pressure on yourself. High school can be challenging when it comes to making friends, and sadly, some teenagers can be very judgmental and might only care about popularity. But it's great to hear that you have found a nice friend group with Sam and Patrick, who accept you and allow you to be quirky and funny, like when you pretended not to have seen them in a year, at the homecoming game. It's really important to have friends that you feel comfortable with, and friends who supports you. Focus on friends like them, rather than trying to fit in with the popular crowd, is my advice.

I feel so sorry about what you witnessed at the time of your brothers party at your house. It must have been a difficult situation for you covering your ears not to hear the girl say things like “no” and “stop” while Dave ignored the girl's objections and continued his actions. He sounds like a terrible person, and it’s sad to hear that a guy like him gets to be popular and a high school legend, when he did something so terrible to the girl. If only people knew about that night. But Sam is right about how hard it can be to prove, that he did anything wrong when they are still in love. However, I’m proud of you for telling Sam and Patrick about it.
