Amish – The devils playground The Amish church was founded in Europe in 1693 by a small group of Christians who held that it was wrong to baptize infants. They believed that only an adult can freely choose Christ and be baptized. The Amish were harshly persecuted for this belief and by 1860 had all migrated to the United States.
