The Amish people are very different from the modern English families because they dont use electricity and they only wear plain old fashioned clothes. The Amish have their own little society but the kids get to choose if they want to be Amish. When you are Amish and teenager you have to make a difficult choice They have something called rumspringa which is a time period were the Amish kids get to be English kids for a long time and where they can find out what they want. Its different for how long rumspringa is. It could be a month or a year. The meaning with rumspringa is for the kids to choose between the Amish lifestyle or the modern English lifestyle. If they choose the modern English lifestyle they are not allowed to see their Amish family again. If they choose the Amish lifestyle they will live forever as one of the plain Amish people. The Amish people are not allowed to use electricity because of their religion.They want to be plain and simple and they dont want to seem proud. They have to use other tings to replace all the electricity things they cant use. For example they use books instead of the internet, letters instead of mobiles, candles instead of lambs, buggies instead of cars and a fire instead of a stove. I think that it is okay that the Amish are different from modern people. They should have control over their own life and live it the way they want to.They almost never get stressed, because their life is not as busy as ours. We are always in a rush because we never have enough time but the Amish have a lot of time because they dont have a job. They have a good lie as we have. They dont know what it feels like to have internet so its much easyer to live without when you dont even try it before. I will never be Amish but i think its a good choice for someone if they are to stressed because i think its more rexaling to be amish than something else in the real world.
