The disaster at Hiroshima and Nagasaki On August 6, 1945, at 8:15 Japanese time, during the World War II, a B-29 bomber plane dropped the worlds very first atomic bomb in Hiroshima. The explosion immediately killed about 140.000 people. Three days later, the 9. August, after the first bomb in Hiroshima, the Americans dropped another atomic bomb over Nagasaki.
