Kort, men informativ redegørelse for atombomberne over Hiroshima og Nagasaki. Giver et godt overblik over begivenheden, selvom den mangler kilder.

The bombings of hiroshima and nagasaki took place the 6th of august 1945. The americans decided that they would use their two atomic bombs fat man and little boy, to bomb Japan. Fat man was dropped on Hiroshima, and little boy was dropped on Nagasaki.

As soon as the bombs were dropped, they instantly killed 140.000 people in Hiroshima and 74.000 in Nagasaki, and tens of thousounds of people later on due to radiation.

In the photo we see wreckage of the destruction the bombs created, the bomb would destoy everything it met, and people would lose their lives, and their homes. Some people survived, but that only if they were far away from the bombing, otherwise they would be covered in bricks and wood.

There were five Japanese cities on the US’s hitlist and Nagasaki wasn’t one of them. On the list it said Kokura, Hiroshima, Yokohamam, Niigata and Kyoto, Kyoto was spared from the bombing because the US secretary of war Henry Stimson had spent his honeymoon there decades before that, so Nagasaki took it’s place.

In Hiroshima there is a park called (Hiroshima’s Peace Memorial Park) and in that park a flame has been burning continuously since it was lit in 1964. The flame will stay lit until all nuclear weapons on the planet is destoyed and the planet is free from the threat of nuclear destruction again.
