Do you feel like you struggle to do what you really want to do, and no matter how much you really want to do it, you just can’t. you feel trapped in a cage that your mind has set up to protect itself. If you try to escape that cage, your body just shut itself down and denies you that opportunity.
that’s how Ian McGregor explained his anxiety to me. The anxiety that made his everyday life a challenge. The anxiety that made him unable enjoy life to its fullest. The anxiety that made him unable to speak to new people.
Through his entire life he hasn’t been able to communicate as well with other people. That made getting friends a huge problem for him. Through all primary school Ian was on his own, even with the help of his parents and the teachers at school. He tried loads of different methods that just didn’t help, he even went to courses on how to avoid shutting down.
Without friends Ian often felt alone and sad, he didn’t have any hobbies neither did he have friends he could spend his spare time with. He just had his room with his games.
