It's about an Indian girl called Jesminder (Jess), who loves to play football in the
park. There is another girl called Jules and then one day Jules ran into the park and
saw Jess playing with some boys. Jules thought she was very good, so she asked
her if she wanted to play with her football team. Of course Jess said yes, her dream
was to be a professional football player. The trainer Joe was not so happy when he
saw Jess. She didn't have football shoes, or anything on. But Joe was happy when
he saw her football skills.
One day Jess´s mother found out that she had been playing football, and she was
not happy. She didn’t want Jess to play football, because she is female, Indian and a
burn scar on her leg means she is not allowed to wear shorts much to her
disappointment. Her mom said that she had to show her and her dad some respect.
Jess was really mad at her parents. The same day her mom wanted to teach Jess
how to cook a nice indian dinner, because that's what a nice woman would do in her
opinion.
Jess continued to play football with Jules and her team, without her parents knowing,
