I think that a kid’s childhood is enormously influenced by the culture.

I don’t see it as a problem right now, but that’s maybe because I am still young, and I also stay out after 11pm. Every kid’s childhood has been changed the last 100 or even 50 years. But I believe, that is the parents fault, or not only their fault, but I think that the parents are a lot more stressed, and have to think on other things than to educate their child. Many still take care of their child, but the more the parent is gone, the more the child wants to do forbidden things or just do more things their own way.

Way back in time, when the Indians lived, there were some transition rituals, especially for the boys. Those rituals should make them real men. In the age of 8 to 11, they should proof that they could provide food, bring genus further, fight in war and a lot of other things. In that time it all happened in a real young age, but I think that was to be sure that they could handle a real man’s job, so if a man died in a young age, the young man could take over.
