In the first part, we follow Juan, an Afro-Cuban drug dealer. Although he exploits his clients' addictions, he is not a movie villain. When Juan finds a frightened young boy called "Little" who has been chased into a cave by thugs, he takes pity on the little boy. Juan takes him home, gives him something to eat, and his girlfriend help and give him the support "Little" misses from his own mother, who is also addicted.
the second part (his youth) not so much has changed. He is still teased by the other boys from school and his mother now steals money from him so she can buy drugs. But one of the boys is not as hard on him as the others, his name is Kevin. One night they meet on the beach and smoke a joint together, it's dark and quiet and all of a sudden, they kiss and nothing is the same between them again
