Somewhere, all over the world, there will always be somebody who feels the pain from a personal hit or attack. People from all over the world tease somebody every day, every second. But it is okay to tease – or is it? The problem is when teasing becomes bullying, and you will never know when that happens, as a teaser. It depends on how the individual perceive it. People have way different limits on whether you feel teased or bullied. And there is a big difference between these two definitions. It doesn’t even have to take place very far away from us. It can be an acquaintance of yours, your neighbour, your enemy, even one of your best friends. And that is pretty scary, I think.
When people bully, it is definitely not sure that they are aware of the bullying. I actually don’t think the ulterior motive is bullying, always. They certainly often see it as unimportant everyday banter, and that they don’t mean it as personal attacks. But the mob victim will surely feel the hurting.
I don’t exactly know WHY people tease and bully, but I have thought about it. A lot, actually. Because, I think it is an extremely updated issue. There can be several reasons and motivations by bullying and teasing. And I will mention some of them. But before I will do that, I have to make clear that there are huge differences when you define the explanation of the two words: “tease” and “bully”. I think, that when you tease somebody, you don’t have to mean it in a very terrible way. It can be some kind of kindly joking. But when you talk about bullying, it is the exact opposite. It is a VERY bad thing, at least in my eyes. And when you bully somebody, you really like and enjoy seeing other people suffer. Here cannot even forgiveness come into play, in my opinion.
