I don´t think that good sportsmanship is dead. I think that many football players could be really mean on each other in the game but out of the game there are not so many. I think that it is part of the game to be angry and sarcastic on each other. It gives a lot more of aggressiveness to the match and the players, and what I think makes the match even better.
I don’t think that it always easy to respect the referee’s decision. Especially not when there are wrong, and you see the right and the decision goes to the opposite team. But I think that everyone should respect the referee´s decisions any time, because they are the most powerfully men in the match. Ex. They can give a player yellow card and red card. He can also give the team coaches’ yellow and red card. He can also stop the match if something goes wrong in or off the field.
The latest match I have seen when a referee is been abused, is the match between Villa Real and Arsenal in champions league. The referee´s says there were penalty to Arsenal, Villa Real think that the penalty was right, but 2 seconds before the mean that there have been offside. Every Villa Real players run over to the referee and try to tell him “the right thing”. Then one of them push to one of the referee´s and the man gets a yellow card it was his number 2 so he gets red. The man gets very angry and jells of the referee´s, you can see in TV pictures that he was threatening the referee´s. Later on the shows that the referee´s was right, there were penalty and there were not offside.
