Many referees all over the world are almost afraid to go to work, because they are assaulted almost every time, they are judging a soccer game. That is not OK. You should be able to respect that the referee has the last word, and you just have to respect his judgment.

I love soccer, and my favorite team is FC Midtjylland. I live in Herning, and the stadium is not far away. I love going to a game with my father and brother/cousins, or my friends. We’re always on the Faxekondi stand, with all the other fans and shout catchphrases about our team. When our opponents reach the field, we yell at them. That’s kind of a tradition. When the referee makes a judgment against our team, we all shout something like: “WHY DON’T YOU OPEN YOUR EYES. YOU SUUUUUCK!” But I know I don’t really mean it, because it properly was the right call. It is the excitement of being in a big group of people who really feels the same way as me, (that our team has to win). When I stand with all the other fans, I get kind of an adrenalin kick. At all the games I’ve been to, there have never been any attacks on the referees. But I think that the non-physical is part of the job. The shouting and yelling. If we just had to stand and look without saying anything else but, “GO FCM”, it would be a very boring game. When the game is over, and everybody go home, we love singing (of course only when we win) that our team rule and so on.
