I am writing to you regarding the theme home-schooling. As the figure shows, the numbers of “home-students” are huge. Close on 2.5 million Americans study at home with the parents as the teachers. In this letter I want to explain the benefits there are about teaching your children at home.
One of the first things I want to call attention to is the phenomenon home-schooling is more or less free. It is going to take time to teach, it is a full-time job. Of course there are some costs, such as books and trips, but compared to a public school the savings are big. Another thing worth mentioning is the standard of the classes. The parents can choose themselves, depending on how good the children are, adjust the standard in the classroom. It is a huge benefit that you can choose the standard, because many students in the public schools can have issues in their education, because they are not good enough. If you educate your children at home they also avoid being bullied, teased and other bad thing. It is scientifically proofed that at student will get poorer grades, if they do not function socially.
There is a larger freedom if you choose to study at home, and many different ways to teach your children at home. You can vary between teaching in the home and then in the nature. You can also take them to town to teach them how economic works and that is what I love about home-schooling: You have a choice.
