Many pupils all over the world wear a school uniform. In both rich and poor countries it is often an obvious thing, like all the other school things. But there are very different opinions about the school uniform. I think it’s a good idea, because it makes the pupils a kind of equal. It’s okay to be different, but it very often leads to bullying between the pupils, especially between the girls. If all wear the same clothes, it easier to be nice to each other.
In countries in Africa and Asia, it’s not bullying there is the problem. The problem is rather, that a school uniform is very expensive. In many of these countries a school uniform is so expensive, that the child can’t go to school. After my opinion school uniforms in those poor countries, is a silly idea. A problem without uniforms is that most of the children are poor but some of them are rich, and they would be so different, and it could lead to bullying. But there is another form of discipline in those countries, and the school uniform has been a part of the culture in several years.
If I imagine that we had to wear a school uniform, I think that many pupils would be mad. Especially the girls would have a problem of wearing it. Boys wouldn’t care so much about it. I am sure that if you made a voting, yes would lose. In my school there is a lack of discipline and respect for the teachers. With a school uniform I think at part of that problem would disappear. I am sure that almost every pupil will say that the teacher also should wear a uniform. It’s a good idea, I think, because then the school work will be the most important. Not the clothes.
