I left my family for many years ago, when I was only fourteen years old. Today I had been a homeless person for about nine years or something like that. I live on the street, in New York City, or more precise Manhattan. I decided to leave my family because I had a lot of discussions about what I should do or not do. And that I couldn’t cope with, so now I am a homeless person.

The first three years I was a homeless person, was very tough. I had no money and often I did not get any food because I was broke. I was stealing a lot of thing to survive. And stealing gave me a lot of problems with the police and the government.

My family lived in Las Vegas far away from New York City. I decided to live in New York City, be course I had heard a lot of good thing about Manhattan, and I also just wanted to be far away from my parents. It was overwhelmed by the big city when I first moved to Manhattan. There were so many huge buildings everywhere. In the beginning I couldn’t figure out where I should go. Everything was so excited and new, and the city was huge. I often got lost and did not know where I was. The first five years I was in a quarter close to the Twin Towers. There were many tourist there was watching the fantastic towers, so it was a good way for me to get a lot of money. They were not focused on their bags with all their money; they were very busy taking a lot of picture of the Twin Towers. On a god day I could steal about 100 dollars, it is a lot of money when you are living on the street. But it is not much money if you are using drugs and addicted to them. Hash was one of my biggest problems when I was a homeless person. In the beginning I couldn’t go a day without hash.
