In the following story, we will hear about the life of the millionaire Aleksandr Ivcevíc.
Hey my name is Aleksandr Ivcevíc. I’m from Russia. I was born the 11th of February 1969, in a small and poor city named Semenovskoye about 50 km from Moscow.I have a big brother, his name is Petr, and he is 10 years older than me. I had a father and a mother. My father worked as a mineworker. My mother has never had a job. My father died, when I was four years old.
We didn’t have any money after our dad died. And my mother could not get a job. My brother had a job, but he didn’t earn so much money, so we could not get food every day. When my brother got older, he got a job on a farm, and he earned more money than the first place. Now we could get food every day, not the best food you could get, but it was better than nothing. When I was 10 years old, my mother died of cancer. My brother was now the only one, who could take care of me.
One day my brother came home to me and said: “We shall move to America!” And I asked him why. He said, that we should live “The American Dream” and move to America and earn a lot of money. It was all right for me, but we didn’t have any money at that time. So the next year we saved money to get an airplane ticket to USA.When we had enough money, my brother and I flied to America, but we only had 100 dollars to the trip.We flied to John F. Kennedy Airport in New York, were we took a bus to our very small apartment. It was about 25 square metres, I guess. The day after we had landed in New York, my brother searched for a job as a taxi driver and he got it. We were happy, because we had heard that a taxi driver could get 300 dollars on a night.
