Mall Rats og shoppingkultur

I do not consider myself as a mall rat. I like "shopping" though. I am not really buying anything, just looking at the stores and the new items. Sometimes I go the cinema too, and watch a movie. And like Connie said the atmosphere is always special at those places and I like that too. I believe that I go to malls and shopping streets maybe once or twice a month. Sometimes with my family and other times I go with my friends.

Shopping centers are huge buildings filled with stores and such. It is mostly clothing shops and a few grocery stores. Also lots and lots of fast food places. That is also a big part of the reason I like to go to malls. The malls are always filled with people rushing around. I think that shopping centers is attractive places for young people because that it is just a nice place to hang out with each other. Also because there are so many people in the malls something is always going on. The mall rats are trying to avoid boredom.

I think that it is also because they want to “meet” new people. Or maybe just watch other people. They will properly meet other Mall Rat “gangs”, and maybe team up with them. In that way they are going to find new friends too.
