Hello I'm about to take on an amazing armchair-travel to one of the finest capitols in the world. Washington DC is a great city with many citizens and many attractions. As the capitol of the United States of America, this city is the seat of the US government and home for the American president, currently this is Barrack Obama. The city construction started when President George Washington picked the place to be the Capitol of the US. Unlike other great cities in US, Washington DC doesn't have any tall skyscrapers. The tallest building is the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, which is 100 meters. Nevertheless the Washington Monument (shown at the picture) is 169 meters, but is not considered as a building. Actually there is a funny reason why buildings aren't tall; it is written in the law. The height of buildings act of 1910 is a law made by the 61st United States Congress to limit the height of buildings. The limit was at that time 29-36 meters. Later this rule has of cause been modified. The reason I picked this city for my vacation, is simply because I think it's a very cultural city, the city which can tell me the most about USA, but mostly because I don't know anything about the most important city in the USA.
