Walter Elias Disney was born December 5th 1901 In Chicago.
Walt were four years old when his family moved to Kansas, USA.
In 1923 Walt moved to Hollywood. He loved to draw, and with Roy his brother they were making a filmstudio. The first cartoon they made, was called “laugh-o-gram”.They also made a cartoon called “Alice in wonderland”, played by real persons. The Walt Disney Company was founded october 16th 1923 by Walt Disney and his brother Roy Oliver Disney.
In 1924 Walt had a little job for a old friend called Ub Iwerks who also was a painter, and he made a cartoon called “Oswald the lucky rabbit”, and that was a big hit.
In 1925, Walt Disney was married to Lillian Bounds.A few years later Walt and Iwers made Mickey Mouse. Mickey was very popular.The first cartoons Walt made was cartoons in the newspapier.
in 1930 Iwerks was working for the concurrent, which Walt was VERY upset about, and said that he never wanted to work with Iwerks again. Walts firm was making a lot of short cartoons. He also had a lot of painters working for him, and soon Pluto, Donald Duck, and super goof was created. The first cartoon with colours was the Oscar winner “The story of the three little pigs”. And that was a huge hit in 1933’s with the song “who is afraid of the big black woulf”.
