In this painting we can see that, L.S. Lowry painted what he saw from his window. For instance people, the shops and the big tower behind to buildings.
2. Elements:
Composition
L.S. Lowry used diagonal lines in this picture. As we can see on the picture, I think there is an invisible line through the picture, from the bottom. Which is from his window through the streets, and then the lines goes to the church.
Eye-catcher
The first time when a person looks at the picture, I think he will notice the white building in the middle of the picture. Because of its position and color, so that’s why I think its and an eye catcher.
Focal point
The focal point in this picture I guess it’s the people. L.S. Lowry wants to show us the buildings. So I guess its what he primarily painted things such as cobbled streets and red-brick houses.
Colors
The colors in this pictures isn’t that bright. He used more darken colors. As I can see, he didn’t use any blue, green, pink and purple colors, which makes the picture more beautiful and gives the picture a pretty good saturation.
In this pictures he used colors like red, black, and a lighten yellow.
