Ice hockey is a team sport played on ice. It is one of the world's fastest sports, and played on either natural or artificial ice in ice baths. There are 6 players on the field from each team - 1 goalkeeper, 2 back, right and left back, and 3 forwards, spread over 1 right wing, 1 center and 1 left wing. The aim of the game is to score goals with a hard rubber disc called a puck. The game runs over 3 periods of 20 minutes, effective playing time if the match is not decided after these have extra time to varriere depending on the rules of each league. Team play, which calls for an object with a bent needle / stick, has been known for hundreds of years, but the word hockey first appeared in the 16th century, and seen depicted on Dutch paintings. The word is composed of ice hockey and ice hockey, which is borrowed from English field hockey, which in turn is believed to come from the Old French word hoquet (shepherd's crook) or from the Dutch word Hokki, there is a blow express word hok (does shed or doghouse but in everyday speech was a goal).
