Pete was getting ready to visit Zoe when his phone rang. Two kids had been reported missing in the mountains. Pete took of his police uniform and took a shower.*Beep beep* He received a message. It was from his boss. It said “Hey Pete, two children are missing in Cache National Forest. I want you to follow up on that case. You have to begin tonight. John.” Pete took up his phone at started messaging to his date, Zoe. “Hi Zoe. Can’t come this evening. Sudden call. Two kids missing in mountains. Pete.” “Hi Pete. I understand. I wish you good luck. Zoe.” Pete pulled on his police uniform once again and drove out in the Cache National Forest. The rest of the police department in Logan, Utah, was already there. They were searching for the children with flash lights, helicopters and dogs. Cache National Forest was a big forest so it would take a long time to find the children so they had to start immediately. Pete and the rest of the police department walked into the forest yelling: “Hello! Anybody here?” nobody answered just as expected. They released the dogs and they came back 6 hours later. They had no clue, so the whole police department was leaving. But Pete wanted to stay. Pete searched for 2 days, and then he started thinking about Zoe. He took up his phone and started messaging Zoe. “Hi Zoe. Been searching for two days now. Can’t give up. It’s getting dark. Pete.” Pete waited for an hour but he didn’t get any answer. He started searching again. He released the dogs once again. This time one of the dogs started to bark. Pete ran towards the bark and ended up outside a big cave. He yelled into the cave: “Children! Are you guys in here?” “We are here! Come and help us! My brother is trapped!” Pete turned on his flash light and ran into the cave. It was big and dark. Pete found the children. It was 2 boys, and 1 of them was trapped. A big rock had landed on his legs so they were probably broken. Pete called his boss from his phone and said he had found them. The police department was there in 5 minutes and the children was rescued. Pete texted Zoe: “ Hi Zoe. Relief. Found them. Very lucky kids. See you tomorrow. Pete.
