How does this film deal with the subject ‘Being different’? Who is/are being different? (Give examples and argumentation)In this movie, is it not alright to be different. There is such thing to be different from the rest for some of them, or else they won’t get accepted. It is Bobby who are the lead-person in the movie, and that is also because, he is different. He is gay, and that is not okay for the most of his family. Bobby’s family – most his mom, is also different, because they are so believing.
Explain how the family members react on Bobby telling he is gay.The first, who knows it, is his older brother. He takes it fair enough, but he gets a kind of upset, so he tells their parent. His parents, especially his mother react so wrong. Their trying to chance him, and does everything for, that it sounds like a disease. His sisters said, that they love him no matter what, and I think it’s his cousin, but she think it’s nice, that he is what he is, and not hide it.
According to the mother it is possible for God to ‘cure’ him/change him – how?The mother thinks, that Bobby can be cured, if he “works” for it. He needs to go out with girls, and see a psychiatrist. Go to parties, and believe, that God will help him.
