You have probably heard about me by now, but in case you haven’t, I might as well tell you my story.

My name is Daniel Defoe and just about a year ago, I decided to do something strange, to gain international fame. I had seen a lot of documentaries about how to survive in the wilderness, but the thing is, they’re all about how to survive on a tropical island in the Caribbean. I wanted to try something completely different.

The definition of a desert island is “an island that has yet to be (or is not currently) populated by humans.”

I was going to try to survive on an Arctic island. To be precise, I was going to try and survive on “The Coffee Club Island”.

The Coffee Club Island is an island located north of the northern tip of Greenland. Some believe that the island is the northernmost island in the world. It is 715 kilometres from the North Pole.

Too get to the island I bought a sailing ship. It was a long and cold journey. I was going to stay there for a few weeks but I’m not the best sailor and my knot was not tied well enough. My ship drifted away. There I was, trapped on a freezing desert island with only my clothes and three well picked items. I had with me my knife, a lighter and Bear Grylls’ book “Man vs. Wild”.
