Art2 lead me into the lounge. He walked in front of me with his characteristic stiff pace, reminding me of his non-humanity.He stopped right next to the couch, his back towards me. "What's wrong, Art2?" I asked, not knowing what to expect. He had never acted like this before. Art2 turned slowly around and looked me in the eyes. His dead eyes, which would never move from the middle of his eyeballs but still looked alive, while glowing bluish. In the past 6 months, Art2 seemed to become more and more self-conscious. His tone when he spoke seemed to vary, and his way of moving seemed more alive. He even tried to comfort me, the night when my father died. He placed his ice cold steel hand upon my shoulder and squeezed it gently. I looked up in surprise, my face wet with tears, letting out the sorrow, which I could not bear in my heart. He looked at me, reaching out for one tear that had just left my brown eye. He placed it on his finger and let it run down in his hand. Then he walked away into the kitchen, leaving me surprised and shocked. It was then; I first began thinking about Art2 as a person. "Sir," He started, and woke me up from my speculations. "I have something of great importance, I need to tell you." He paused, making sure I was listening. I focused on him, as I waited to hear what he had to say. "You are in great danger. I was sent here to assassinate you." My head went empty. I was scared to death. His words sunk into my head, and I gained control of my own thoughts again. He wanted to continue but I stepped back, my eyes filled with horror, as I finally understood what he said. I tried to escape, but before I even got to the hall, he caught me. I wanted to scream and fight back, but his cold fists had covered my mouth and he held me tightly into his chest. I could hear the machinery from inside of him, replacing the sound of a heart. I used to like it, but now the sound frightened me, like the rest of him did."Take it easy, I am not going to hurt you!" He said, still holding me tight to his chest. "Just let me explain, and I'll let you go." I stopped trying to break free, because I knew it was a waste of effort. He was designed to protect me from buglers and murders, so surly I couldn't fight him."I was sent here because of your father, Arthur" I jumped a little by the sound of my name. He had never called me by name before. Always just "Sir"."Your father was the creator of a new energy source called, Scylla. It's a creation so powerful, that it can change the world. For the better or worse. Your father didn't die in an accident, he was murdered. I was sent by those who want the energy source, to increase their own power and wealth. They sabotaged me, so my programming would be to kill you after six months. But while doing that, they accidently unplugged the chip, keeping me from becoming self aware. I ended up liking you, and wanting to help you." He stopped talking, while looking down at me. I realized I had stopped breathing and I could feel my heart pounding against my ribs. He let go of me, so I could stand, but my knees were shanking too much for me to gain any kind of control over them. "Arthur, I want to help you." He said again, while reaching out for me. I took his hand and got up, while my head was full of questions. Why me? Why had my father created such a thing? Where was it? Could I trust Art2?I decided to try. He was the only one who knew about this and I was going to need his knowledge and skills.
