Min første halvmaraton

I bought these shoes in the summer holyday of 2006. The reason for this was that I was starting on a new part of my life. A part of my life where I was going to spend two years being a part of a new community on Vejstrup lower secondary boarding school. I had been too the “New student day” where we were going to decide which optional classes we would like. I decided to try attending the half marathon team and therefore I needed to buy a new pair of shoes.

It was indeed a beautiful evening when my parents and I were on our way to Vejstrup to have me settled in. We arrived at the school found my room and started unpacking. I planted my new Asics Nimbus running shoes proudly on the floor underneath my bed.

The time flue a way for the first week’s time and it was finally time to get our timetable. I was pleased to see that there was half marathon Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on my schedule. The classes where first to start after Christmas, so my shoes didn’t get used much before that.

It had been Christmas now and all the lovely food had placed it self on my tummy. I looked forward to be starting the with the half marathon class. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were well passed and it was time for the first marathon class. At dinner we had been told to meet at the entrance dressed in our running gear. I did as told and walked proudly towards the entrance at 3:58 pm with my shoes well tied to my feet. All most every body were already there when I arrived and I actually did get at couple of comments on my shoes. Our teacher Rikke told us that we where going to run the right, right lap. Rikke told us that the right, right almost were 6 kilometre’s and we should start running when we were ready. Of we went and I felt flying in my shoes. I got back as the second first and was pleased. When everybody was back we went to the gymnastics hall to un-stretch. Rikke told us about running in general and finished of the by telling us about the reason of this running team. We were going to practise to the B.T. half marathon in Lyngby in the spring.
