Hi, I’m an exchange student from Brazil, my name is [NAVN A], I’m 17 years old and I’ve been exchanged to the USA. My host family is very nice, but strict… rules are rules. It is a single mom with a son about my age, his name is Daniel, and a son at the age of 12, his name is Scott, both are her biological children. When I’m not in school I’m hanging out with Daniel and his friends, which is now my friends to. My first day at school was kind of a mess; I didn’t have any friends and the only person I knew was Daniel, because Scott isn’t old enough to go to high school. I didn’t even know where any of the classrooms were, but when I stood there and didn’t know what to do one of the teachers came up to me and said: “hey, are you the new guy?” I nodded. Then she kept talking; “don’t you worry, I have a map for you specifically right here”, she handed me a piece of paper. On that paper was a mini-map over the school, and then I went to class. At the lunch break I went to sit at Daniels groups table, I thought I was funny but strange that everyone was a part of a group, and not the society, there were no popular girls or something like that, ruled the school like in the movies, you know?. It seemed pretty quiet until the bell rang, all the peace and all the relaxing atmosphere, just went away, everyone pushed and stepped on each other’s toes on the hallway, I almost didn’t think that I would make it out alive, but I luckily did, because the next subject I had was math, my favorite subject, or at least now it is, I sat and I’m still sitting next to the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen. At the end of the day, I went home to get some rest, I’m sharing bedroom with Daniel, but not bed of course, I was 2 seconds away from sleep when Daniel and some of his friends came in to the room… and I was awake until 2 am playing video games, then I felt a sleep.
