Monday the year 1864 the 26. Of March. I was lying in my tent this cold afternoon. When I heard the ones in my neighbour tent was talking about their job they had before this.

I heard that one of them worked on a cotton field the second tended chickens and the last one worked on a sawmill, all typical slave job.

I then heard one of mention the name La Amistad it caught my attention. I remember I have heard that before, in the news there was written: Spanish illegal slavery transport. The ship La Amistad was today the court in North America. The whole reason was to prove that the slaves were from Africa and not Cuba. There were only one to defend the poor souls from the vicious Spanish and the greedy Americans that found the ship. It was found in the Eastern coast and you could see that the slaves have taken over the Spanish and killed nearly all of the crew except the navigator. The defender of the Africans won, and the Spanish did fast got suspended from the court. The last battle and the final evidence that got the defender to win over the soldiers was that a former ex slave could translate the language and they said they were from Africa. I was really confused by this but i asked the guys next to me what they were talking about, well known what they talked about, the nearest one said that they were from La Amistad. The one that tendered chickens said he was very happy that they won the court. And didn’t even want to think what would had happen to them if they got in the Soldiers custody.
