Amistad is produced by the American Steven Spielberg, from Ohio, in 1997.
Amistad is a movie about a slave trade in America in 1839, it is based on a true story. In 1839 were African slaves, shipped from Sierra Leone to Cuba and at least USA in 1839. It shipped a lot of African slaves. All the black slaves were sold in Cuba for slavery. They were taken on board, and shipped from Cuba to USA, Cinque, was a leader home in Africa, and were leading and takes over the ship. The slaves were sailing and sailing, all of them hoped that they could find help when they came in to the land. When they came to USA, all of the black slaves were imprisoned. They couldn't speak English, and they were doomed to the death for killing the captors, their arguing was that they were free citizens of another country far away and there were no slaves. The case ends at the Supreme Court table, where John Quincy Adams makes a plea for their release.
The movie Amistad provides a very good idea of how the slavery perished in 1839. Anthony Hopkins, Djimon Hounsou, Matthew McConaughey and Morgan Freeman are the most important persons in the movie.
