This study examines the culture of hooliganism and its force of attraction. Hooliganism is a big issue in football, and the violence is almost impossible to stop. Through sociological theories, a novel and a documentary this paper explains hooligan culture and its force of attraction. People get attracted to hooliganism because of the “we-feeling”, the masculinity, the violence and the exciting experiences that violence gives. This study also includes a statement about four different theorists that have four different explanations of the hooligan culture. An analysis of the book The Football Factory with focus on characterization of important people, composition, narrator, environment, language, theme and message is also included. At last this paper examines the documentary Chelsea Headhunters with focus on the four theorists explanatory power of the hooligan culture that gets shown in the documentary.
