Take up the white man's burden is about the white man or the Europeans who think they have a responsibility to teach and educate the black man in a western way of living. The task of teaching the uncivilized man is difficult and heavy to carry. Rudyard Kipling (RK) thought that the Europeans helped the people in the colonies because they were not apple to do anything themselves they were doing them a favor but maybe the black people thought the opposite. The white man thought they were superior to the black. In the poem, RK describes the black man as non-human and stupid.

Rudyard Kipling was born in 1865 in Bombay and died in 1936. He is a British poet (1 Worlds of English) He was educated in England. In 1882 the returned to India where he worked for Anglo-Indian newspaper. In 1894 he road the Jungle Book with became a children’s classic all over the world and the second Jungle Book appeared the year after. Kipling received a lot of honorary degrees and awards. In 1926 he received the gold medal of the Royal society of Literature, there is only 3 before him who had received the price. (2 nobelprice.org)
