In 2009 Sarah Shepard wrote “All the things we didn’t say” witch is her first book for adults. At the end of the book she thanks her mother for giving her the courage to write a book for grownups.
The main character Summer and her family carries a big secret; many years ago at a teenage party Summers father caused a terrible car accident and were the only survivor. He ran away from town, raised a family and never told anyone but his family about the tragedy. One day when Summers mother disappears she suddenly gets obsessed with the car accident and finds out that there was more to the story that her dad didn’t say.
The whole story takes place in their hometown, though with a few flashbacks from the past. The environment and surroundings are very good and clean, Summer goes to a Christian school with no violence or crime.
Summer is a nice shy girl, from a rich Christian family. She’s an only child, and the only thing that makes her special is her family secret. Summers father is a very controlling and strict man. He’s almost blind at the left eye, very tall and a bit chubby.
