The story is written by Ryan Boudinot and was published in 2002. The littlest Hitler is about a boy, who dresses up like Hitler for Halloween, when he gets up in the school, he’s only get negative comments in class. The teacher thinks that he’s costume and another girl, Lisette’ costume is very interesting, because she was dressed up as Anne Frank. Hitler and Anne Frank were both characters in Second World War.
The Narrator is the little boy in the story, called Davy which goes to West Century Elementary in fourth grade. He lives with he’s father in Virginia, his father support him in everything, and helps him a lot. For Halloween he dresses up like Hitler, he’s father painted a black swastika in a white circle on a red bandana and tied it around his arm, the father gave him mustache and gave him some hair, that had made Hitler look as if he was always sweating. In the bus and in the school, was people staring weird at him.
I think his dad is a good dad, he helps him with his costume for Halloween, but he’s also a different adult, if you look into other adults, and here is an example from the text: “I liked my dad because he didn't seem to follow a lot of the rules other grownups seemed obligated to follow.” I think that his dad is a person who has trouble accepting his role as a parent, because his dad shows him Hitler and dressing him up like Hitler, any adult can see that is wrong, Davy is only a small child.
