Skribentens beskrivelse af Focus on popculture

Music has a big influence on the identity of a generation and how it’s has formed to be. The generation’s kids are more informed about sex, drugs and party. This makes them grow up faster, and forgetting to enjoy their childhood. Seeing what the celebrities act like and behave, makes the generation think that, it’s the way to act and behave now a days. A celebrity like Miley Cyrus has a big influence on the generation of kids, because they know her as a former Disney star. They may have been used to look up to her, when she was Hannah Montana, and still do, even after she isn’t Hannah Montana anymore. Miley is for example naked, twerking (shaking ass), partying and doing drugs in her videos. What kind of role model is that? She makes the kids think that it’s normal to behave like that. But not only Miley Cyrus has a big influence on the identity of a generation, also any other celebrity that we look up to, and want to be like, has a big influence, therefore I think that they should be more careful, and think more about who’s watching. They shouldn’t care that much about selling, but more about what it’s doing to our generation, especially kids.

British pop is an unusual identification, not one based on hatred, but in creativity. “Pop is the outsider’s”
