There are many different kinds of reality shows and to some people it seems like an easy way to fame and glory. Thousands of people audition every year but only a few manage to create successful careers afterwards. In some reality shows you have to survive, and in others it’s pretty much just a bunch of people gossiping around. The amount of reality shows is really big.
First off let’s start from the beginning. The first reality show premiered on TV January, 11 1973. And thus began the history of reality shows. The show was called ‘’An American family’’, and was about an American family of 7. The family was to be filmed throughout the day and then have their daily routine documented for seven months. This show is very different from a lot of shows today, because there weren’t any script, host nor interview with the family. The show was followed by 10 million happy viewers every single week, and was also the most talked-about show at the time. Already in the second episode the twenty year old son Lance told his family about his homosexuality, he became the first guy to ever say that on television, which was also very unusual back then.
