For many years, men have been ranked higher in the hierarchy than women. Women have gained rights many years after the men, and therefore men have always been one step ahead. It has changed significantly in recent years, where equality has been at the center, and the women have climbed their way up to success. But are men and women equal today?

“The End of Men” is an article written by Hanna Rosin. She describes how the development of women taking over most of the posts is not something unexpected. Rosin begins the article by explaining that the role reversal happens because women are much better suited to the post-modern society. The article is written as a reaction to the fact that women have become the majority of the workforce for the first time in U.S. She uses research from sperm clinics such as MicroSort, and interviews with a lot of women who go to college. These interviews and surveys is what she based her arguments on.

Studies show that more people want girls instead of boys. "In some clinics, Ericsson has said, the ratio is now high as 2 to 1” (p. 7, l. 24)

Many begin to scream out: "I want a girl" and this is a huge change in our history in relation to earlier years when families only wanted to get boys, because in their view, it meant a brighter future with a boy in the family. Girls were also considered a shame to the family and in some societies it was even a custom to bury baby girls alive. So it has resulted in a huge change between men and women.
