Mathias. It’s a pretty normal name especially if you think of where he is from. He is from the capital of the worlds biggest island, but even though it’s the biggest island in the world there is only 56 thousand people on the island and that’s why many calls it a minority.

As many other Mathias is in Denmark for the school, because the Danish school system can seem to be better. But he also went to school in Greenland where he did not get much of his school potential used. Much of his family lives in Denmark, but his father and mother is both on Greenland where they have good jobs. Mathias has a big talent for snowboarding and that is obviously a big sport in Greenland like football is in Denmark, because they have mountains and a big bunch of snow to ride on, and its there the whole year. He is so talented that he has some pretty big sponsors who helps him to get new gear and the chance to get professional and that is also the goal. Last year he won the Danish national championship in snowboarding held in Norway, but the goals are bigger. We are talking the Olympics and X games. But what I find most interesting about him is that he is much like me. Funny, crazy and full of energy in what he is doing. And when he shows this energy in his work, the results of it are astonishing and that is also why I believe in his snowboard, because he really works for the goals of being the best. But like many other young people he is very sleepy and just want to say fuck it all to many things, but he is also very good to try to do his best. But now I have told a lot of Mathias life I know, but what I really wanted to get to, is that if you come from a minority you don’t have to be different at all. Maybe you look a bit different, but for Mathias it is no problem to score life goals, or girls just to notice. And Mathias is a very good person who believes in himself and the people around him. And I like him very much and I believe that his future is very bright and of course filled with lots of good memories.
